Get ready because I am about to share with you the best family photo location on PEI.

There are many things that I love about being a PEI photographer. One of my favourite things being asked to take family photos somewhere on PEI that I have never been. I live in Prince Edward Island where it is literally beautiful everywhere you go! When I think of PEI, I think of red dirt, whether it be roads or cliffs, beaches, and bales of hay. So, when I was asked to head out to a family cottage in Hampton, there was zero hesitation.

What do I like so much about this location for family photos? The red dirt road, which is so iconic to PEI, is anchored by farm land and lupins. For those of you who are unfamiliar with lupins, they are considered a weed. They are found mostly in ditches and arrive in June to only stay a few weeks.

Another reason this location is perfect, is the dirt road is wide enough to fit an entire family. The only downside is there’s no shade coverage. This can cause some pretty harsh highlights and shadows on my subjects but the beauty more than makes up for that.
