Carriage House Wedding | Colin + Sylvie

A Carriage House wedding is always so much fun!! The property in itself is stunning. There are two separate houses for the guys and gals to get ready so there is zero transportation required. Guests can hang out on the property between the ceremony and reception time.

The Wedding Day

I think one of the things that I love most about photographing weddings is getting to know the couple. I have clearly been to my fair share of weddings and Colin and Sylvie’s was yes, very hot with a humidity of 40+ degrees but it honestly didn’t matter. When their friends and family got up to speak about them, I learned all about the hurdles they have already overcome as a couple and how their love persevered through it all.

The Couple

Sylvie always wanted to be a doctor and applied to medical school to follow her dreams. Her father wouldn’t stop asking her to apply to the school of his choice which was in Sherbrooke, Quebec and so to get him off her back, she applied. To her surprise, she got in!! He is French and although he tried to speak French to her growing up but she was having none of it, her native language was English. So yes, she both got into medical school AND completed it in French!!!

While going to school during the day and learning French in the evenings which was mandated by the Government of Quebec, Sylvie made time to FaceTime Colin each day. Colin always showed up for those calls at the time they agreed upon, never missing an opportunity to talk to his girl. I can honestly say that there would be little come up that these two couldn’t get through together and I am confident they are going to have many happy years ahead of them.

Thanks again for trusting in me to capture your wedding day memories! xo
