AI-nnovate or AI-gonize: Embracing the ‘Artificially Intelligent’ Side of Your Business

AI-nnovate or AI-gonize? That is the question. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here to stay folks so you better start to embrace it and learn about it because it’s not going anywhere. I’m going to give you an overview of what it is and how it can help streamline your photography business.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

AI is a game changing technology that is revolutionizing our everyday life. AI is a fancy term for computer systems that can do things that usually need human smarts. It’s like when your smartphone can understand your voice or when a robot can figure out how to move around without bumping into things (Like my iRobot vacuum). AI makes machines really smart by using special computer programs.

AI is used in many areas of life. It helps doctors diagnose illnesses, makes our cars safer, and even helps us find the best products to buy online. Chatbots, those computer helpers we sometimes talk to online, are also powered by AI. It’s all about making things easier, faster, and more efficient. Sounds a little scary doesn’t it? Well instead of being afraid, let’s try to embrace it for what it is and learn how it can help us.

Different Types of AI

The most common AI software program that you have likely heard of is ChatGPT. It really is endless in its capabilities. So instead of me researching the most common uses for ChatGPT, I asked it and here is what it told me…

ChatGPT is primarily used for various purposes, including:

  1. Conversational Assistance: ChatGPT can provide automated customer support and answer frequently asked questions in industries such as e-commerce, banking, and telecommunications. It can assist users in finding information, troubleshooting issues, or guiding them through processes.
  2. Content Generation: ChatGPT can assist content creators, writers, and marketers in generating ideas, creating outlines, and even drafting pieces of written content. It can be used for blog posts, social media content, product descriptions, and more.
  3. Personalized Recommendations: ChatGPT can analyze user preferences and behavior to provide personalized recommendations. It can suggest movies, books, products, or even offer tailored advice based on individual needs and preferences.
  4. Language Translation: ChatGPT can help with language translation tasks by providing real-time translation assistance or suggesting appropriate translations based on context.
  5. Learning and Education: ChatGPT can act as a virtual tutor or learning companion, answering questions, explaining concepts, and providing educational support in various subjects.
  6. Creative Writing and Storytelling: ChatGPT can generate creative writing prompts, help with brainstorming ideas, and even co-create stories with users.

It is important to note that while ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it is still an AI model and may have limitations. It should be used in conjunction with human oversight and critical thinking to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the generated content.

I think the huge takeaway from this is that it is fantastic for helping you create ideas, titles for things, content creation etc. but you should always read what it has given you and put your own spin on it. If anyone knows me personally, they know that I would never write something so professional because well, my grammar sucks. So just keep that in mind when using it in your everyday life.

Now to the good part.

How Can AI Be Used in Your Photography Business

I want to add a little disclaimer here that I am not a pro at AI or any of the software programs that I am going to mention but I am starting to try them out.

  1. Chat GPT
    – Email and blog post titles
    – Re-writing blog posts
    – Generating ideas for blog posts
    – Drafting personalized emails
  2. Imagen AI and Impossible Things
    – Editing images
  3. Narrative and Aftershoot
    – Culling images
  4. Motion AI (www.usemotion.com)

    – Know exactly what to do next
    – Keep track of your deadlines
  5. Lightroom & Photoshop

    – Additions to masking
    – Batch editing your masks

These are just a few of the ways I am either using AI in my business or plan to integrate it into my workflow.

I would love to know how you are using AI in your business and if there is anything you think may benefit mine.

Keep Snappin’,

Nicole
